Seymour Makes a Bold Prediction

Well, it seems the struggling Oakland Raiders have nothing left to fear, for a prophesy has been told. As Defensive lineman Richard Seymour stated on a Cincinnati Radio interview: "You can mark it down, the Raiders will be in the playoffs. The Raiders are going to the playoffs."

REACTION:
Do you mean this year? Or several years from now?  Mike Ditka put it best saying (on ESPN) that the Raiders will only make the playoffs if the rest of the team plays football like Richard Seymour.

Somehow that doesn't seem like it's going to happen this year. They had a solid showing against the Eagles, and all of a sudden the Raiders are bound for the post-season? Look Richard, you're not on the Patriots anymore; come back to reality. I'll give you the fact that there is a lot of season left to play, but it's hard not to laugh at such a prediction when you have the Chargers and the Broncos, one of the biggest surprises and best teams in football this year, in your division...and you've lost to both of them already! Here's my response Richard: take out the Jets, who come to town next week, and go into San Diego the following week and beat the Chargers, taking the Raiders into the bye week 4-4. Do that, and we'll reevaluate your theory. Until then, worry about your team playing its best every week. The Playoffs are still a long way off...
