Sunday/Monday Picks - Week 12

2-3 on Turkey Day...pretty much what I expected, although I thought the upset might have been Oakland over Dallas, but still some great football action.

Now on to Sunday and Monday. I'm going with most of the favorites, save for two upsets, but I'll discuss the most interesting matchups.

I'm taking the Jets at home over the Panthers. Coach Ryan will play this one extra tough and Carolina, despite having played better the last few games, might succumb to the Jets hungry defense. The Panthers can win if they run the ball effectively, but Delhomme might cause some turnovers which could cost them the game.

Tennessee is on a roll and there seems to be no stopping Chris Johnson. And with QB Vince Young playing smart and aggressively, we're looking at a different Titans team here down the stretch.

Houston can't seem to win winnable games and Indianapolis has done nothing but, so I'm going with the Colts.

Pittsburgh at Baltimore. This is going to be another classic slug fest, and on prime time, oh my. But you already know who I'm picking.

Here's my upset special (drum roll). I'm going with New England to make a statement against the Saints. First off, the Saints have had too many close and sloppy games to make me think they can pull out a win against the Pats, who despite a questionable decision or two, look like their old selves. Something tells me the Patriots want some revenge for the loss to Indy, and I don't think it's too much to say they can take out one undefeated team this year. Regardless of the outcome, this should be one hell of a Monday Night Football game.

Turkey Day Picks

Ok NFL fans, here are my Thanksgiving Day picks. Green Bay is not Cleveland, so the Lions won't be able to stage a comeback like last week. The Cowboys have won 4 of their last 5 Thanksgiving games and, while the Raiders found a way to win at home last week, they'll find a much harsher atmosphere in Dallas. The G-Men pulled it out at home last week and with Denver struggling, the Giants should be thankful for their odds on the road.

What am I thankful for this year? I'm thankful for the F's. My family, who have encouraged me to follow my dreams (and who are avid readers of this blog); my friends, many of whom will be joining me for a thanksgiving feast; and of course football, which has been a cherished part of my own Thanksgiving tradition for as long as I can remember...now all this blogging has made me hungry, is it time to eat yet?

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

NFLReaction.com Week 11 Picks

Ok so I'm going with most of the favorites (and trying a new format...again), but here are some quick explanations for the Underdog picks:

San Diego over Denver - The Chargers are looking great and the Broncos are having issues. I don't see Denver pulling this one out, especially with Kyle Orton hurt and Chris Simms taking snaps in practice like he's going to start.

Tennessee over Houston - Call this my upset special. Houston's got a talented team this year but they've lost winnable games. The Titans are on a roll and nothing seem to be able to stop Chris Johnson.

Baltimore over Indianapolis - Ok, so the Colts are probably going to win this one, they're undefeated and unbeatable it seems. On top of that, Baltimore is not playing their best ball...but, hey, anything can happen. So I am gonna stay loyal to my team and pick them. Go Ravens...
